Varlock Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data DMNO Inc. (the data controller) collects through the varlock.dev website and the varlock command line tool, and how you can limit it. Last updated August 2026.

The website

varlock.dev does not require an account and does not process payments. We use PostHog for product analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the documentation is used. Analytics run only on the varlock.dev domain (not on local or preview builds) and capture page views, referrers, coarse device and browser information, and interaction events. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to serve and protect the site.

If you sign up for our email list in the site footer, we store the email address you provide in our email list, which is used to send project updates. You can unsubscribe with the link in any email or by writing to hello@varlock.dev.

The varlock CLI

The varlock CLI sends anonymous usage telemetry: which command ran, which official integrations and plugins are in use, version information, general system information, and anonymous user and project identifiers. It never sends your configuration files, environment variables, secret values, file paths, or error messages. The full list of collected fields is documented on the telemetry page.

Telemetry is optional. Opt out permanently with varlock telemetry disable, per session with VARLOCK_TELEMETRY_DISABLED=true, or by setting the cross-tool DO_NOT_TRACK=1 convention.

Third parties

We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers named above (PostHog for analytics, Cloudflare for hosting) to the extent needed to operate the site and the telemetry service.

Your rights and contact

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete data associated with you by emailing hello@varlock.dev. For security concerns, see the contact page.
